Obviously most posts on this site are directed towards being widowed and what all comes along with that but once in a while I’ll write other posts because it’s what’s on my mind.
Last Monday we had buffalo chicken enchiladas and Evie decided that she wanted my food so I figured I would try to give her some and see how she liked the spicy foods. She LOVED it and was mad when I stopped feeding it to her.
This got me thinking about my pregnancies with all three kids, the similarities and differences and the cravings with each of them.
My pregnancy with Logan I could eat anything and had no issues whatsoever. I craved strawberries though and ate them almost daily. Since he was first able to actually eat strawberries they have been his favorite and he will seriously eat the entire container if you let him. They are the fruit he always asks for and he can’t get enough. He also isn’t picky and will eat pretty much anything.
My pregnancy with Caleb it was so hard to find anything to eat because it all made me nauseous. I never actually got sick but just that sick feeling. Peanut butter seemed to be one of the few things I could stand. Since he was first able to eat he never seemed to like much of anything and Bob and I never knew why. We thought he was just picky and it would get better as he got older. Come to find out when he was 4 that he had Celiac Disease. Ding ding ding! This is why he was so picky! Almost everything he ate had gluten in it which was making him not feel good but he had no way to tell me. Since the change in his diet he eats a lot more now because he feels better and he isn’t as picky. He ate a PB&J every day for lunch during the school year so you could say he still likes peanut butter.
My pregnancy with Evelynn I could eat pretty much anything but some things just didn’t sound good. I did, however, crave spicy chicken and spicy foods. Considering she didn’t want to stop eating the buffalo chicken I gave her last week it’s safe to say she will eat that again in the future and like the things I ate during pregnancy. She isn’t picky about anything I’ve given her so far but definitely likes some things better than others.
It’s so neat to see the similarities of the foods I ate when pregnant and the foods my kids eat now.
I’m curious for those of you who will read this if your kids ended up liking whatever it was that you craved during your pregnancy? Leave me a comment and let me know, I’d love to hear!
