Just an update

Wow, I don’t know where the time goes. I haven’t posted in 2 months, looks like since it was 7 months since Bob’s been gone. I did have a draft written up about Father’s Day that I never posted but also never finished. Let me say that it was just so much harder than I thought it ever would be.

Well, since I last posted we made it though 8 months, Caleb’s 3rd birthday, 4th of July, 9 months and Logan’s 5th birthday. We’ve kept pretty busy during the summer so I haven’t had a chance to write.

I decided to have a combined birthday party for Caleb and Logan since their birthdays are both in the summer and to make it easier on me. Every other year we’d have everyone over to our house for bbq but that was because Bob was in charge of the bbq and I only had to worry about making the other food.

Logan played teeball over the summer, did a week of vacation bible school and both boys did a summer kids day out program. We took a trip to Silver Dollar City with my mother in law and we all had a great time.  We ventured to the Magic House and to the Zoo and even out to eat when it was close to nap time (which we never used to do) and went swimming with Logan’s friends (and their moms). They are both behaving so well and I’m glad that I can actually start getting out of the house again. It’s hard to do it alone especially on days when my diseases want to take over but I’m trying. Took the boys to see Dory (it was Caleb’s first movie) and they actually sat through the whole thing. Hoping to take them to another one next week.

I was able to make it out a few times without the kids too which was nice. I was able to meet up with some police friends, friends from high school, got together with friends for another friends birthday and even participated in a Screwball Tournament to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Association. That tournament was last Saturday and I’m still sore all over today. Not sure I’ll be able to do that again next year but we will see. It did feel really good to get out there and play since I haven’t played a sport since high school. Even got a double and was able to slide which felt amazing. I used to slide every chance I got when I played softball in highschool and I still knew how 13 years later. That’s pretty much how my summer has gone so far and I also decided to start a business! There will be more on that in my next post.
