Almost on a daily basis I turn on my iTunes and listen to music while getting ready. It’s amazing how much better I feel when I crank up the music. Bob and his friends band, Generip, is on the list of music I listen to. I love hearing his voice and having the boys hear it too. I listen to plenty of others depending on my mood but lately, I’ve been listening to a certain Wilson Phillips song to help prepare me for Karaoke with my police wife friends. Haha, one more night ladies!
Anyway, a long time ago Bob wrote a song for me. He wrote one right after we starting dating in 2005 that was a more hillbilly song trying to make fun of where I was from in a joking way. He wrote a couple for the boys too that I have to sing to them almost every night. This one though he wrote in 2008 and I almost forgot about it but found it last year on the computer. I can’t help but listen to it and just smile. One of the things I loved most about him was his sense of humor and not only in his writing but also in his songs you hear it. I know I’ve experienced a kind of love that some will never experience and for that I am truly thankful. I’m not sure if I’ll be lucky enough in life to have that kind of love again but at least I know I was loved by one of greatest people I’ve ever known. I can only hope my boys see that and treat their future wives how Bob treated me.
