I haven’t posted anything since June so figured it was time for an update. Our lives have been quite busy and crazy since then but all is going pretty great. The boys are doing absolutely amazing in school and just make us proud of how smart they are and what all they have accomplished so far.
On November 6th I surprised Erik with a group of his friends at Top Golf for his 37th birthday. He hadn’t seen some of these friends since before covid so it was so nice to see him be able to hang out with them and have a good time. He hasn’t been able to do much of that because he spends most of his time off work with the kids and I so he definitely needed and deserved a night out.
Originally I just told him we were going out to dinner for his birthday. This was actually our first night out without the kids since Evelynn was born so I guess he figured this was his chance to propose since we wouldn’t have another night by ourselves for quite some time.
At some point during our night at Top Golf he told his friends his plans to propose so they all knew before me which was great since then they were able to get it on video and some pictures. As we were leaving he was walking ahead of his friends and pulling me along while I’m yelling at him to slow down and say goodbye to his friends. I assumed he was walking fast to get to the truck since it was colder, boy was I wrong. He stopped, faced me, gave me a kiss and then got down on one knee, I was so confused and looked over at his friends to see they all had their phones out and then I realized what was happening. I was in shock but of course I said yes! Definitely one of the best nights of my life and I can’t wait to spend the rest of our lives together.
Wedding planning has started and we have a date planned for 4-1-23, yep that’s April Fool’s Day but there’s nothing normal about our relationship so why not go with something different. We are so excited and can’t wait!
Thanks to all our friends and family that have been on this journey with us and especially me over the last 6 years. This hasn’t been an easy one but I’m so thankful to have found love again.
