Widow:
-a woman who has lost her spouse by death and has not remarried.
When I think of the word “widow” I think of an old lady whose husband has died, thus making her a widow. I don’t think of a 30 year old with two small children becoming a widow. Just saying the word makes me sick. I can’t be a widow, I refuse to say I’m a widow. When do you start using that word? It’s only been 2 weeks and I never want to use that word. I know I’m not the only young widow with children out there but that doesn’t make it any easier. I want to talk to someone that’s been in my exact situation with the same age children and the same health issues I have. I know that’s not going to be possible but if it was it might make things a little better.
